Oh dear

Well I don't know what to say.  I have been drifting about, not really getting anywhere.  I have got some more model to post, but I made them awhile ago.  I have some commissions to do also.  I not sure why I went off track.  I have missed my felties.  I am really hoping to focus alittle better in 2012.  Being focused if a real problem for me, always has been.  I get very angry with myself when I go off track.

Will post pics of new makes in the next couple of days.  Thank you everyone for sticking with me.

Still here

I'm still around.  I am still making a needle felted Gypsy vanner.  It does take me awhile because I am working them 1/9th scale at the moment.  I have been commissioned to make a couple of portrait models, so will be starting them soon.

I have also been making a costume for cosplaying at the excel games expo at the weekend, will post pics next week.  I'm going as Ezio from assassins creed.  I don't play X-box but had to come up with a costume and that's who I choose.

Mr Tumnus

Here is the reason I have been gone awhile.  Meet the beautiful Mr Tumnus.  He is a 1/9th model which I have needle felted.  He took me awhile as you can imagine.  I really enjoyed working on him. He will take a Breyer rider nicely as you can see.  I don't have any tack in this scale yet, apart from a head collar, so poor Katie is riding bare back.

Mini micro feltie

Holidays over, back to the grind.  Have not been focused at all for the last month.  I have managed to get some felties made.  I have been trying to make 1/34th scale.  I do like to challenge myself.  I have seen a really nice stable block in this scale and wanted to see if I could make the horses and ponies for it.  My biggest challenge was a Shetland pony, but I think I have managed it.  I will post pics of him when he is finished.  Here is the third little micro feltie I have made, he measures a tiny 2 1/2 inches tall.

New mounts on the yard.

I have been on a roll this week and last.  Making horse left right and centre.  I have another two coming up behind these three.  I might have a little break and do some needle felted dogs.  Well here are the three so far.  First up is Tess.
Next is Molly

and finally Lance who was going to be a Exmoor pony but was to big.

New for August

I can't believe it is August already.  Time really has flown. I have had an ok week this week, only went off track twice but managed to pull it back round.  Husband has been off this week and eldest son has been in Spain on holiday so this has made a little bit of difference to my routine.  I have two horses and one rider to show this week.  First up is Shadow the Arab gelding, Shadow is showing off the head collar subscriber Kim made for me.
Next is Mojo the Shetland pony gelding
And finally Rupert the rider doll

Going backwards.

Feeling as if I am going backwards this week, or at least come to a stop.  I have just not had enough hours in the day to get the model making under way.  Just the one this week.  The lovely Gypsy vanner cob mare Folly.  I'm not sure if you would get this colouring on a Vanner, but I can do it how I like lol.  Here she is.

Comments

I would like to thank everyone for their lovely comments. All of your comments really help me stay focus, as you are all probably aware by now I have a huge issue with staying on track with things.  I do reply to them all, but I'm not sure you can see them on the blog.  I'm not sure why this is.  If anyone has any idea why please explain.  Will have one feltie this week to show you.  I don't know why I have been so slow. Will post her in the next couple of days.

At long last

Here are my latest models, plus a rider.  This is the first rider I have made.  I have been try to make one for ages, but just keeped getting it wrong.  I don't think Sarah came out to bad.  Also this week I have done a commission portrait for someone.  So up first is the commission.
Next up is Lottie.  I have been experimenting with a splatter technique which didn't come out to bad

I have made a shire next.  This is Martha.  Again I splattered her, poor thing.

Here is the rider.  Still have to make her hat, which I have been having trouble with.  Will keep trying as always.  Her name is Sarah.
Hope you like these new makes.  Hope not to leave it so long next time.

Lazy me

Have had a really slow couple of weeks.  Will be posting my latest makes in the next couple of day, but I have been really lazy and only managed two.  Shame on me.  I must admit there are not enough hours in the day sometimes.  Running a family is hard work.
Was really wondering what has happened to summer.  Grey sky seem to be this years effort.  Never mind, if the weather is the only thing we have to worry about then that's not bad going.  Will post pic soon.

This weeks makes

Only the two this week, but boy did I enjoy these.  I have been designing some new patterns. The Freisian Murphy being one of them.  Have been wanting to make a Donkey for some time now and finally got round to it.  These lovely chap have already been adopted.
First up is Blue the Donkey
Followed by the lovely Mungo the Fjord.
These guys are off to join their brothers and sisters at subscriber Kims home.  I think she has a large herd of my felties now

Sunday 3 July 2011

Three more nags.

Three more new models this week.  Have had a strange old week this week.  One minute up on cloud nine, then having trouble focusing.  Monday was the hottest day this year, so not much got done.  I did go out jogging, then spent most of the morning trying to cool down.  All good fun.

Well here they are.  First up is the lovely Smokey.  He is made from the lovely wool felt.
Next is Coco the Welsh cob.

And last is the magestic Friesian Murphy, showing himself off beautifully.

Subscriber Kim has been at it again.  Here is her latest huge model.  I think he/she looks fantastic. Kim look very much at home riding him/her.  Thank you Kim once again for sharing your photos.

Summer diorama competition

I ran a little competition on a forum I belong to.  I asked the members to come up with a summer diorama scene.  This is the winner.  I think Stacey has done a fantastic job.  She wins herself a rosette.

Busy, busy

I have managed to stay very focused over the last couple of weeks, and have managed to make four new horses.  I have bought this lovely wool felt fabric in motted shades.  It has a lovely feel to it, real quality.  I have some 100% wool felt coming which I am hoping to make a Fjord out of.  Watch this space.  First up is Kermit
Not very happy with his front legs, didn't manage to get much shape worked into them.
Next is Tuppence.
Lovely little sheltand pony.
Next is Stroller, named after a horse in a book that I am reading at the moment

And last but not least is the very pretty Soreen.

Friday 10 June 2011

Huge model horse

Here are some fantastic photos of subscriber Kim's model horse at the bottom of her garden.     He is called Jink's after her pony she owned when she was ten.  I wish I had the room for one of these impressive chaps. Thank you Kim for letting me share these.

Sunday 5 June 2011

Busy week

Busy week making last week.  Managed to stay focused enough to make three.  I am sticking to 1/12th for awhile. Hope you like this week offerings.

First up is Hettie,  I did have trouble with her name, I couldn't decide what she looked like.  My husband helped in the end, well he suggested Hannah because of her white mane and tail (We have a niece with bright blond hair called Hannah) but I thought I couldn't really name her after our niece.  I don't know how Hannah turned into Hettie.
This feltie measures 5 3/4 tall. I think the Julip rider fits well on board.

Next up is Apollo, this is a very moody little pony. He measures approx 4 1/2 inches tall.

Again the rider fits well.
Next is the mighty max, he measure approx 6 1/2 inches tall.

I am praying for another productive week next week.

Tuesday 31 May 2011

Little Chiquitita

My latest little make this week is the lovely Chiquitita.  I think Dapple greys are my fav.  She is worked to 1/12th scale.  I have a couple more models in the pipeline, just need to get round to taking some pics.

Sunday 22 May 2011

New Mounts on the yard

Oh my I didn't realise I had been away so long.  Where does the time go.  I am sorry for the long absents.  I have been really busy with crafting.  Here are my latest makes.
First up is Romeo the Arab gelding.  He is worked to 1/12th scale.  Measureing 6 inches tall, well just over.

He is a fantastic show horse with no baggage.  He loves to please.  He is very green, but making great progress.

Next up is the cheeky Rupert.  He measures 5 inches tall and also worked to 1/12th scale.  I have made him with a hogged mane so he is already for the show ring.
Rupert is a very lively,  He is full of fun.  He needs a very strong hand to ride and turn out.  But he is a lovely Cob.

Hope not to be gone for so long next time.

Thursday 14 April 2011

William

Next new make, well a couple of weeks ago.  This is William.  I have used calico fabric for this model which I have painted and sanded, then repainted which gives a lovely smooth finish.  He is worked to 1/12th scale so measures around 6 1/2 inches tall
William is a lovely horse to own.  He has a very calm nature.  He is forward going but only when you want him to be.  He is fantastic in the school and out on hacks.  His dressage is coming along leaps and bounds.  He has an excellent stable manner.  This type of horse is very hard to find, 1 in a million we would say.

Monday 11 April 2011

Sienna

My latest make, well not that recent, about three weeks ago.  Just never seem to have the time to take photos.  I have worked this little mare out of faux suede.  She is a pony so only measures around 5 1/2 inches tall, still worked to 1/12th scale.

Sienna is a very nervous little mare.  Also she likes to eat her bedding.  Whilst hacking she likes to have company.  We have tried to show her in hand but she will not stand still, hates strangers.  So all in all this little mare would like a quite life of company hacks with a strong rider.

Friday 8 April 2011

Winston

I am totally hooked on these dogs at the moment.  This little chap is my latest make.  He stands just under 5 1/2 inches tall, made from corridale wool.  I I have two horse coming up.  Will post over the weekend, hopefully.

Wednesday 6 April 2011

Breeze's face

Forgot to show you guys Breeze's face.  Thank you to Elli for pointing this out.  Here's his sweet little face.

Monday 4 April 2011

Something a bit different.

Fancied a little change and needle felted this Border Collie.  He is called Breeze, I have made him 1/9th scale.  He is made from Merino wool with English glass eyes in topaz colour.  He loves being down on the farm.  Not very good round horse because he keeps trying to round them up.

Tuesday 29 March 2011

Update on Willow

Here is an updated photo of Willow one of my 1/9th scale faux suede models with his new mane and tail, add by his new owner Kim.  I think he looks tons better, good job Kim.  Kim is looking to show Willow so watch this space to find out how he gets on.  Good luck.

Sunday 13 March 2011

At long last.

Finally I have got my finger out and made a mare called Bridie.  She is made from faux suede fabric which I have painted with acrylic paints.  I have worked her to 1 1/2th scale.  She is a lovely mare, with a calm nature.  She can be a little spooky at times, but nothing to bad.  She schools and jumps really well, and eger to please.
We feel this mare has a lot to offer.  Everyone loves her on the yard.

I am more focused at the moment and have a couple more 1/12th scale models in the pipeline. Fingers crossed it lasts.

Saturday 19 February 2011

I'm still here

I have been mega busy which means not much going on with making my horses.  I am in the process of making a needle felted black Arad Stallion.  Needle felting takes me longer to do, but I enjoy it. Kids are on half term next week, so might have a little more time.  Will post the Arab when I have finished.

Monday 31 January 2011

Lazy me

I have been really lazy and haven't made many models.  I have managed to start a feltie that is my smallest yet.  He will be stable mate size, around 2 1/2 inches.  I will post pics when I have finished.  I do have a problem focusing.  I have been like this since I can remember.  I want to make loads of horses but get side tracked.

Sunday 16 January 2011

Finally

It has taken me awhile to get back to normal after Christmas.  I have made these two last week, more to follow.
First up is Harry the dapple Arab gelding.
Bit fuzzy this photo sorry, the camera was being a little naughty.  This little Arab is a very nervous chap, but very loving.  He is good around the stable, but he does not like new people.  He does not load well or travel well.  His nervous nature makes showing impossible.  He does not like to hack alone, but is fine in company.  He likes to be in his stable when the weather is bad.

Next feltie is Murtle the Gypsy Vanner.
Murtle is a very strong pony, but a good all rounder.  She is good to do in all areas, just need a strong rider to keep her in check.  She has been in the rosettes and has breed a lovely foal last year.

Saturday 8 January 2011

slow start

OMG!  It is taking me so long to get back into the swing of things.  I have managed to needle felt a horse over the Christmas holidays, but man I am struggling to get going.  I'm will kick myself into gear this week to get some mini's done.  I think this is scale I will stick with for the time being, I really enjoy making them.  Will hopefully  have some felties to post this week.

Sunday 2 January 2011

Christmas over.

Sorry I have been away for sometime.  Christmas was very busy, but hoping to get on track now.  I know I said in my last post that I was going to make a large faux suede model but that didn't quite happen.  I have been needle felting, and have nearly finished my next feltie.  I am really addicted to the 1/24th scale.  I think it is the sweetness of them.

The snow has finally gone after about two weeks.  Christmas was ok but I never really got in the Christmas spirit.  I found it more stressful this year for some reason.  So glad today to be back to normal.  Hope everyone had a really nice time.

Will be posting pics of my latest feltie in the next couple of day.  He will be up for sale in my etsy shop also.
