My models have slowed down again, this is not helped by my new hobby of baking. This has kind of taken over my life.  I keep getting people asking about my felties and I am still making them, but since I have moved onto the solid sculptures I kind of don't want to go back to soft.  I know people love the softies but I have to be enjoying what I do or it just doesn't happen.  I am working on a heavy horse at the moment,  I do really want to show next year.  I have finished a pony in solid sculpture, will post photos shortly.

Ludwig

Has been awhile again.  These new type models take me alot longer to make.  I have keeped with the 1/9th scale for this show cob.  He has a real Cobby head on him.  I didn't hog his mane, I thought he looked quite good with a full one.  I really enjoy making these more solid models, even though they take me alot longer.  I will be starting my biggest model yet of a Clydesdale.  Well here are the photos of Ludwig, hope you like him

New Solid model

At long last I have something to post.  It has been ages I know which I am sorry about.  I must get into the habit of posting a little more often.  I have been trying to sculpt a more soild model.  I have managed to come up with this Dapple grey Hunter.  He is worked to 1/9th scale, so bigger than I am use to.  He has a wire armature which has paper mache applied, then he is covered in air dry clay.  I have then painted him in acrylic paint.  He has mohair for his mane and tail.  I have called him Bombardier, Bomber for short.

Sorry

I have been gone for awhile, which I am very sorry about.  I haven't had any models to post.  I am making one at the moment which will be a Suffolk Punch.  I have been having alittle break from them, but I can hear them calling me to make more.  I couldn't tell you why I haven't been doing them.  It's just me, I have to go off and try new thing that don't really turn out and always come back to my models.  I wish I could just stay on track with them all the time, but I really don't think that will ever happen.  I'm not going to beat myself up over it.  Well hopefully I will post pics of said Punch when finished.  Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather.  I am, very much.

Another commission.

As I said in my last post, I have been working on a  friesian commission.  It seems to be taking me longer these days to complete each horse.  I don't think it really matters as long as I get them done.  This chap will be jetting off to Australia.  Have been playing around with some riders, but not very happy with the results so far.  I will keep going and hopefully one day will come up with a half decent doll.  Well here is the Friesian, this is the third one of these I have made so far.

Norwegian Done

As mentioned in the last post, I was making a Norweigan Fjord.   I only just finished him last week.  I really love Norwegian Fjords.  Would really love to own one and a Haflinger.  I think they would make a lovely pair.  I am now making a commission of a Friesian.  These are a very popular breed, people just love them.  I love making them.
I am having a massive clear out of the house, so this taking up alot of time.  Also have got the bug for baking cakes.  I like the fact that you have a final result in a matter of a couple of hours.  Well here are the pic's of the Norwegian who I have named Harry.

Completed commission

Just finished this commission.  She will be heading for Canada very shortly.  I'm making a Norwegian fjord at the moment.  This isn't a commission, just a breed I like a lot. I have caught up with my commissions at the moment, which is good.  I was going to make a Suffolk Punch from a new pattern before the Fjord, but I cut the pattern wrong and didn't have enough felt left.  I am ordering some more so I can carry on.
Been baking quite a lot.  Also gardening in the rain, because every time I go to do it it rains, so I thought in the rain it must be.  You watch it will lovely tomorrow.  I think us in the UK have forgot what nice weather looks like lol.  Well less of me waffling on and down to the pic.  Here is the commission pony.

Spring mare and foal

We had a lovely spring day yesterday.  I have been making a mare and foal in the hope that it would encourage the nice weather.  Well I think it worked yesterday, but very short lived as today is back to it's normal dull self.  I have been making a commission portrait feltie aswell, which is coming along nicely  I have got the baking bug.  I am really enjoying making cakes.  Also my knitting is coming on very slowly.  I am making an aran jumper.  So as you can see I have my fingers in very many pie. I can never just do one thing at a time.  Well here are the pics of the mare and foal.  The mare is called Grace and the foal is Rosie.

Hibernating

It really feels like I have been hibernating.  Tucked away from the long freeze.  With no sign of wnter giving way to spring it is the best thing to do.  I have managed to complete one of my commissions a little grey Cob, who is going to live in a castle with one of my other felties.  I have decided to make a mare and foal in the hope that it will make me feel more in the spring mood.
Here he is

Don't worry.

Don't worry folks I'm still here.  Just been off focus again.  I think that I will never be any different.  I have been making some felties, commissions mainly.  Will post photos of them when done.  Have pulled a muscle in my neck which is really painful.  So this is slowing things down a little.  Not sure why I keep getting these little pulls in my arms and neck.  Probably down to sewing.  But I'm not giving up.  Hope you are all well and looking forward to the summer (if we get one)

All at once.

I have been really busy, that is why I have not posted for awhile.  I have many new models to show you guys.  I don't think I will make them in such a big batch next time.  I have also been celebrating my youngest son's 18th, so lots of family over so no sewing.  I have had a couple of wobbles with deviating but managed to get it into touch quite quickly which I am really pleased with.

Well here is the herd of new makes for January/February.First we have Medals who I did make some time ago, just never got round to taking photos.  He is a Morgan gelding.
Next is Sid, he was made the same time as Medals.  They have been keeping each other company.
Up next is Monty who I made with the last batch but has been waiting for a mane and tail.
Next up in this massive herd is Sandy the Donkey
Here next is Sandy's friend Welbeck, another Donkey
Still going. Told you I have been busy.  Next is Annie the Clydesdale.
Hang on in there, still more.  Here is Cloud another Shetland pony.
Next, (yes more lol), is Troy.
And finally a new pattern for this year is Bunty the Hunter mare.
I think these have been a little bit like a 62 bus, wait for ages then two come along together.  Off now to start more.  I am the mad feltie lady!!!!

Commission portrait

Just finished this commission portrait.  This time it was for a rider aswell.  Was a little bit nervous about getting the rider right as I have not made very many.   Here are the photos of the commission

The background really suited the day, it was snowing outside when I was taking the pictures. Thankfully most of the snow has gone already but I think we are in for another round later tonight.  I is pretty cold today.

Still beavering away on another 3 horses, two Donkeys and a Shetland pony.  Also not forgetting the horse that needs his mane and tail.

Christmas break makes

At long last I have finally got round to making some more models.  The christmas break really did give me sometime to myself.  I am really trying to stop myself from wandering off onto to other projects.  I never finish them and end feeling that I had wasted a huge amount of time.  I really want to focus.  I think I may suffer a little with ADD lol.  Well christmas was ok, nothing to really write home about.  That's me just being a little humbuggy.  Well as I say I have managed to make five horse over the christmas, FIVE!!! I hear you gasps ,yes that is what I can do if I really turn my hand to it, without giving in to wandering call.  Well here are four of those five because the last one is waiting for a mane and tail, because I couldn't find my brown fur fabric.  It will probably turn up when I'm not looking for it.  Oh yes hand and elbow are heaps better now so full steam ahead I hope.

First up is Duchess, check out my new background.  Only thing is the light that I usally use is broken so my photos are not to good.

Next up is Abacus the Arab, not very happy in the snow, but he was tucked up into his stable after this picture was taken.

Now we have the lovely Zac the Gypsy Vanner, he is also a blanket spot.
And nearly finally because there is another little norsey waiting in the wings, here is Trixie who I keep getting mixed up with Duchess, not sure why.
The next couple of days I will have photos of Monty once he has his mane and tail.  I have been out today to buy a exercise hula hoop to help strengthen my lower back ( injured in a riding accident) so wish me luck lol.
